Christmas Salad
Okay, it’s not Christmas, and you wouldn’t get these five varieties of fresh homegrown tomatoes at Christmas, not even in California! But, the red and green made me think of Christmas.
Another thing I love about growing your own food is not having to cook! It’s too hot anyway. Five varieties of tomato, with fresh sliced basil tossed in a little good balsamic vinegar and raw olive oil, with shaved red pepper and a dash of salt, on organic whole wheat toast brushed with olive oil. So good. Thanks for stopping by! – Kaye

HO HO HO!!! Your green zebras are fantastic Kaye…what a tasty salad to sit down to.
I polished off the remainder after midnight while working on the next Late Bloomer! 🙂
What a beautiful salad! I’ve never tried green tomatoes!
The green zebras have been worry free, are juicy, tender and I highly recommend them. But, when they are ripe, they’re ripe and you need to cut and eat them. How, do you know, without squeezing every one on the vine? They turn a very slight tinge of yellow green.
Think I might have to have salad for dinner now!
God made salad for gardeners!
Yum, Yum, Yum! Looks wonderful.
Hey, Annette! How’s it going?
Yum! Red and green makes me think of the Italian flag–especially with olive oil.
🙂
that looks delicious. There is nothing quite like the taste of home grown tomatoes!
Thank you, CCJ! You are so right! I just filmed a clip to complete my upcoming tomato episode of my neighbor and his humongous Lemon Boy and Celebrity and several other varieties. I’ve got to get some seeds from him for next year!
Looks fabulous – and you’ve answered a comment I made on fb!!
Yes, and I gave a more complete answer, so check it again. Thanks! 🙂 – Kaye
